Remote Operator
At Verne, we are building a new generation of urban mobility. As a Remote Operator, you will be part of the team supporting the safe and reliable operation of our autonomous vehicle fleet. Working from our Remote Operations Center, you will monitor operational events, assess real-world traffic situations and provide support to autonomous vehicles when additional context or operational assistance is required.
This is a hands-on operational role at the intersection of mobility, technology and safety. You don't need previous experience with autonomous vehicles, we will provide comprehensive training and certification.
What matters most is your ability to stay focused, understand complex situations quickly, make sound decisions and follow procedures consistently.

What will you do?
Monitor autonomous vehicle operations using dedicated remote operations tools and live vehicle data.
Assess traffic and operational situations based on camera feeds, maps, system information and other available inputs.
Respond to operational events and alerts quickly, accurately and calmly.
Identify situations that require escalation and coordinate with Product, Safety and Engineering and other teams.
Follow established safety procedures, operational protocols and escalation paths.
Maintain accurate records of events, actions and operational decisions.
Support incident management and vehicle recovery processes when required.
Identify recurring operational issues and provide structured feedback to help improve our technology, tools and processes.
Participate in training, simulations and regular assessments to maintain operational readiness.
Contribute to building and improving Remote Operations processes as Verne's autonomous fleet scales.
What do you need to succeed?
Strong situational awareness and ability to understand traffic situations from multiple sources of information.
Good judgement and ability to make clear decisions under time pressure.
High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during extended periods of monitoring.
Ability to follow procedures precisely while recognising when a situation requires escalation.
Confidence working with multiple software tools and digital interfaces simultaneously.
Clear and concise communication skills.
A responsible, safety-first mindset.
Ability to remain calm and structured when handling unexpected or ambiguous situations.
Comfortable working independently while being part of a highly collaborative operations team.
Fluent Croatian and good working proficiency in English.
Valid Category B driving licence.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage, but not a requirement:
Mobility, transportation or fleet operations.
Logistics or operations coordination.
Customer or incident support.
Automotive industry.
Professional driving.
