Prototype Vehicle Technician
As a Prototype Technician, you will play a key role in assembling, maintaining, preparing, and supporting the operation of multi-project test and development vehicles. This position will also be responsible for helping to oversee the workshop, including parts, materials, and workload planning. The role is crucial in ensuring the success of Verne’s groundbreaking mobility projects.

What will you do?
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Prototype Build team and interact with multidisciplinary teams across Verne’s facilities. This role requires readiness to work at various test locations and maintain high technical standards.
- Undertake the build, maintenance, and preparation of concept, mule, prototype, and production vehicles throughout test and development phases.
- Oversee workshop operations, including team coordination, inventory management, materials planning, and workload distribution.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the workshop in compliance with company policies and EU regulations.
- Act as the primary technical resource for technicians, providing guidance and expertise.
- Manage stock levels of consumables, fluids, and service parts within budget.
- Oversee workshop tooling and equipment, ensuring functionality, maintenance, and cost control.
- Ensure HV safety equipment and test kits are well-stocked, inventoried, and deployment-ready.
- Track and manage workshop budgets, inventory, and resource allocation.
- Support testing environments by preparing necessary equipment and tools.
- Any other duties as assigned by a line manager.
What do you need to succeed?
- Technical certifications or equivalent experience in vehicle prototyping and development.
- Extensive experience in motorsport, prototype, low-volume, or high-performance vehicle builds.
- Basic welding, machining, and fabrication skills (desirable).
- Understanding of modern automotive electrical systems and diagnostic tools (advantageous).
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Clean driving license and passport.
