Procurement Director
We're looking for a Procurement Director who will play an important role in shaping and delivering our company’s procurement strategy. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and oversee procurement operations across key vehicle commodities and indirect commodities. The deliverables for this role include ensuring a cradle-to-grave strategic sourcing approach, building robust supplier relationships, and driving cost optimization while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

What will you do?
This is an office-based role that will require close collaboration with internal departments, including Vehicle Engineering and Design teams, as well as external stakeholders such as suppliers and third-party vendors. Occasional travel to supplier meetings may be required.
As a Procurement Director, you will:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the procurement team to deliver high-performance results.
- Lead sourcing strategies and commercial negotiations to secure favorable terms, ensuring cost optimization and quality.
- Identify and assess supplier and market risks, implementing mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions.
- Establish cost management frameworks to drive cost reductions and value creation, in alignment with financial goals.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and project management teams to align procurement with technical requirements.
- Prepare and present sourcing proposals and procurement reports to senior stakeholders for approval.
- Drive process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Oversee contract preparation and vendor selection, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and procurement policies.
What do you need to succeed?
- Proven track record in driving process improvements, delivering cost savings, and optimizing procurement performance.
- Proven success in leadership roles within procurement, demonstrating the ability to drive results and influence business outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and driving cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Ability to collaborate seamlessly across functions, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and fostering strong working relationships.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and deep understanding of procurement best practices to optimize efficiency and compliance.
- Strategic thinker who balances long-term vision with a hands-on approach, exhibiting flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate procurement value and engage stakeholders effectively in English.
- Resilient and professional in dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective problem-solving.
- Experience in life cycle cost management, with a track record of successfully implementing supplier risk mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of automotive procurement processes and technical requirements would be considered advantageous.
